Hello, lovelies!🌻 I’m back with Let’s Talk Bookish~ last bookish talk of the month and I look forward to December because the topics are great (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:✧
This time, we are discussing one of my favorite things to do: rereading books! Something I always mention in my blog is how much I reread books instead of picking new ones.
Do you reread books? How often?
I love rereading, most of the time I find myself navigating toward books I have read before and loved. Something very peculiar about my rereads taste is how even if I loved a book the first time I read it, I will never reread them again for years while others that I’ve equally love, I will reread until I know every single letter in the book ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ
I reread often; while reading new books I always reread one with the new ones. I find this helpful, it keeps me motivated to continue reading the new books and when I’m bored or stuck with these new books, I will go to my reread and find happiness again. For example, right now I’m rereading Redeem by Christina Lee which I absolutely love and I’m also reading a new book Bad Habits by Onley James and Nave Wilder.
Do you reread a series before reading the newest book?
It depends, if I have reread the series before and know I will be good with the new book I will not reread them again. If, for example, I read the first 3 books and book 4 was already released but I didn’t read it until months later, I may reread the other books just in case – especially if its the same main characters and not about a different couple/people within the same world-building.
I haven’t read the latest books released within the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward, I own the first 11 books which I’ve reread a thousand times but I haven’t read the new releases. So, if I decide to pick up the new releases, I will reread the other books even if I know them by memory just because there are a lot of characters in this world and I don’t want to feel lost.
Is there a certain book or series that you always come back to reread?
Some from the top of my head:
- The Obsession by Nora Roberts
- The Hathaways series by Lisa Kleypas
- The Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn
- Redeem by Christina Lee
- Knight of Ocean Avenue by Tara Lain
- Off Base (the entire series) by Annabeth Albert
- Sassy Boyz (the entire series) by Elizabeth Varlet
- Just a bit Ruthless by Alessandra Hazard (one of my favorites rereads ever)
- Chesapeake Bay Saga by Nora Roberts
- Wild by Adrienne Wilder
- Trust Fund Baby by Aiden Bates
- Forbidden by Claire Cullen
- The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward
- Dark-Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon
- The Nightwalkers series by Jacquelyn Frank
- Seduce the Darkness by Gena Showalter
Do you count rereads towards your monthly/yearly goals?
Sometimes I do if Kindle automatically adds them, but if I have to keep a record and truly take time to input every time I reread a book I just won’t do it. 99% of the time I don’t keep track of how many times I’ve reread a book in a year.
Do you feel guilty about rereading books?
Nop, I absolutely love rereading especially when I feel down or when I feel I don’t have ‘anything’ new to read. It gives me happiness to reread.
