[RECAP] What I Did During My Impromptu Break

Hello, lovelies! 🍉 Happy August! one week down and before we know it December will be here and we will all celebrate New Year’s! During the middle of June and all July I decided to take an impromptu break. As always, I don’t plan blogging breaks they just happen but I don’t fight them. If I don’t feel like blogging I prefer to remove myself from the equation instead of doing a half-ass job.

Books I read in June and July ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

apologies for the very small pictures >< I read about 32 books, a mixture of mangas and e-books
  • THE VERY BEST: The Bride Test by Helen Hoang
  • THE VERY, VERY, VERY BAD: Dirty Secret by Ki Brightly, M.D. Gregory
  • THE UNEXPECTED: Peregrine by Piper Scott
  • THE LOVABLE: The World’s Greatest First Love V. 13 by Shungiku Nakamura
  • THE VERY BEST: The Deputy and His Enforcer by Kiki Clark & Unhinged by Onley James
  • THE VERY, VERY, VERY BAD: Something in the Way He Needs by Cardeno C.
  • THE UNEXPECTED: Kissed by a Killer by Leighton Greene
  • THE LOVABLE: Beautifully Unexpected by Lily Morton and Charles by Con Riley

During the past two months I have been reading non-stop. I try to always read at least a few pages every day, and if there’s a book I like you bet I will read it in one or two days! During June and July I read some phenomenal books, such as The Murder Between Us – criminal romance with police work and a coming-out story. Unhinged by Onley James – oh boy, a serial killer who falls in love with the son of one of his victims! ⚆ _ ⚆ I re-read volumes 1 through 14 of The World’s Greatest First Love which is one of my favorite manga series (✿´‿`) and Don’t Be Cruel volumes 7 through 9 – this manga is perfection, the character growth is chef’s kiss 😙 I also read The Bride Test which has been on my radar for awhile and was an amazing read ❤

I bought some new books ~ I rarely buy physical books but I got two new Nora Robert’s books, and The Virgin Suicides which has a gorgeous cover and I heard is a great book!

I tried watching movie based on the book for The Virgin Suicides but I hated the movie and I hope the book is better! 🧐 I blame myself, why did I decide to watch the movie first I will never know.

I also picked up a couple of mangas which had new volumes and I literally devoured those mangas in a blink of an eye! ❤

Movie ~ #sailormooneternal

I’m a HUGE Sailor Moon fan, I have been since I was a little girl and the new movie released in July made me so happy! The colors, transformation, plot, characters, everything made me so giddy and I felt like a child again; it felt nostalgic.

I also watched Miss & Mrs. Cops a Korean Movie with an actress I really like Lee Sung-kyung! The movie was fun and really good, it touched on a subject which is sensitive and something very common that could happen in our everyday life. A similar movie is Midnight Runners which I also watched and love.

Music #ninemusesthrowback

These past months I have been listening old K-Pop, groups I loved but feel no one listens to anymore – at least not many talk about them online. One of those legendary groups is Nine Muses, I will not bore you all with my love for K-Pop music but if you like masterpieces Nine Muses discography is for you! I also listened a lo of LOONA, their new release was amazing!

Sayonara Instagram ٩◔̯◔۶

I decided to say goodbye to Instagram. With all the changes, the motion to move towards video instead of pictures and the algorithm I didn’t enjoy sharing bookish pictures anymore. Maybe I will try Tumblr or find something else, I’m just no longer interested in fighting to get a couple of likes. I love taking pictures but I don’t want it to become a competition where I need to fight the algorithm for people to see it.

I’m trying to be more active on Twitter but the platform is so negative, the toxicity level there is off the roof – even on happy news people have something negative to say ;A; Even the bookish community there has a degree of drama that I’m just not into it 。゜(`Д´)゜。

Well, I think this is all for today ~ I hope to avoid taking any more breaks until the end of the year. After all, I plan on reading some amazing books which I want to fangirl about ಠ‿↼
