Hello, lovelies! 🌵 there’s still one full week left of March and my reading habits have been all over the places. I have always read one book at a time, but this year it looks like the year where I start books but won’t finish before picking up another one – argh, I don’t like this feeling.
According to Goodreads, I’m reading Blindsided by Eden Finley (which I haven’t even started, but I’m dying to read it because I love Eden Finley), The Fever King by Victoria Lee (only read chapter one so far), #Burn by Devon McCormack (I’m in standby with this book, just can’t seem to get into it to finish it), The Victory Garden by Rhys Bowen (reading chapter one), Blood for Blood by Victoria Selman (read line one), The Greek’s Forbidden Innocent by Annie West (still on chapter one), A Daring Arrangement by Joanne Shupe (halfway into it) and Rising Sun by Michael Crichton (almost giving up because the audiobook is driving me crazy in the wrong way).
What Goodreads doesn’t know is that I’ve been reading non-stop the Chesapeake Bay Saga by Nora Roberts – currently reading Chesapeake Blue, book number 4 and final (rocking page 49), reading mangas – because hello, Kimi Ni Todoke is one of the cutest mangas out there, totally funny, relatable, lovely, the romance is so cute, the friendships are goals and the art is breathtaking. Also, why did the audiobook had to give me 2 credits just like that!
Pride and Prejudice is a book that I have never fully read even though I absolutely loved both the six episodes with Colin Firth and ADORED the movie with Matthew Macfadyen – I don’t know which Darcy I loved more. Anyway, I bought the book a couple of years ago because I wanted to read it. I tried reading the first chapter and I just couldn’t! I was devastated I couldn’t get into the writing and the characters as much as I did with the movie/TV episodes.
So, when I had the chance of getting any book free I tried Pride and Prejudice narrated by Lindsay Duncan. I have mixed feelings about the book which I will share in a full review, right now only having 12 minutes left in the audiobook I’m quite loving it, even though I absolutely despise Lydia – her character is just so silly, I can’t stand her. But, the pace is good and I like how the book goes a bit more in-depth about the character’s feelings and thoughts – something I didn’t get during the movies.
So, I feel this month has been a lot of re-reading old books I own and love, reading mangas, listening to audiobooks, and ignoring Kindle – my god, I don’t even know myself for saying that. I love Kindle, makes me so happy 🌸 It’s been a crazy month 😓
PS: please appreciate these gorgeous covers!
